MEET BLAIR
TURNING STRANGERS INTO STORIES, AND STORIES INTO HOPE
Meet Blair, a passionate advocate for mental health awareness. Through My Site, Blair sells merchandise products to fund initiatives and collects inspiring stories from individuals, akin to Humans of New York. Join us in spreading positivity and support for mental health.
I’m 24, and mental health scares me. The numbers are brutal — men under 25 are among the most affected, and suicide is the leading cause of death in Australia.
It breaks me to know so many men and women carry silent battles they never speak about, that suicide is stealing more lives than anything else.
With my own questions about death, grief, depression, and what it means to keep going, I set out to listen — really listen — to strangers’ stories, their advice, their truth. I sat day after day on a bench listening to people share their personal battles with Stories of Hope & Healing. Real stories from real people, sharing their journey through mental health challenges - the weight of depression, the chaos of anxiety and the emptiness of grief and suciide loss.
That’s how the Human Before Anything campaign was born — I wanted to create wearable art where people's stories are heard, hope is shared, and no one feels alone. Each collection and its design represents a different emotional aspect of the human experience. Three main collections:
1. The Weight We Carry (Depression)
2. The Storm Inside (Anxiety)
3. Their Story Lives On (Suicide Remembrance)
The QR code on the sleeve links to each real story . What to give when you don't know what to say. An outlet or invitation to read stories and hear something that makes you feel less alone in your own experience. Expanding on that is a platform where people can share how they are feeling and reduce the effects of depression/outlet to speak about what's going on in a safe place.
